Willis wheel gets a work out

Grandson, Lane's 12 b-day  Pictures are of friends who are taking their first rides.  Quite a long line, Big Thanks to Uncle Ed for helping everyone on and off.    We purchased this two-seat wonder at an auction about 25 yrs ago.  It has gotten a lot of use over the years!

Yardsale find, Lone Star needs background

I decided to go with a flat black for the corners and sides. The print went on the back and will brought to the front for binding.- cw

I Picked up this 'star' at a yard sale for $5.

It lays out flatter than this picture suggests.

I had no idea as to what background to try use. My creams look to close to the lights and I really didn't want to go white.

I considered black.

Mary made the suggestion that I look for a print to busy it up a bit.

Lane and Karlee went with me to the big box store and helped pick out the fabric. It has all the colors of the star and a bit of green too.

The kids were rather pleased with their selection. I was too. Enough so that I purchased enough to do the back too.

Not quilted but pretty cute!

We are getting ready for a VBS at church this week. Here is my grandson, Lane, modeling the mascot costume. I have made mid-size puppets in the past and when asked to create the dog head, I had no problem saying "OK".

Dawn made the paws. I struggled through following directions on the head. My-Bad is I hate to follow directions! Decided not the make the body and let the character wear white overalls and a long-sleeve white t-shirt instead. It is way to HOT here to ask a teen to wear fleece!

I will share 'after' photos when we see this outfit come to life tomorrow night.

Here's COOPER getting ready for a game with the kids.
