Kelly helped pick out fabrics she thought Lane would like. The blue, green, orange and yellow were all pulled from Stash. Originally I was going to cut up the Spiderman fabric and make D-9patch blocks. Plans are always subject to change.
Piano keys are a fast and fun way to use up strips and add focus colors around a center panel. I added a narrow white inner border as a siggy strip. Now campers can write well wishes to the quilt as a keepsake from summer camp.
I have enough strips leftover to make the trim on a pillow case. (or two?) Maybe a rug for his room? Maybe another project needs to be added to my growing TO DO list!

B-day quilt for Becka
Grandkids are spending the weekend. Last night they reminded me that a school friend is having a b-day party tonight. Can we make her a quilt? Of course! You pick out fabric and help cut it into sqs.
Every B-day needs a pinata, even if it just in the border.
Karlee picked out this pink daisy sheet for the back of the quilt. I hope Becka likes her new snuggle under from the Willis kids---- cw

Kids, Pinita and Cake!
Photos are not in order.
At church we like to do a 5th Sunday Potluck Style Dinner.
This Sunday just happens to be Karlee's 4th B-day so we added a little surprise for all the kids.
Karlee love anything princess so we decided to surprise her and the other children with a princess pinata! Hubby rigged up pulleys so he could raise and lower it.
The mask I brought didn't fit so the kids were on their honor to keep theirs eyes shut when it was their turn at bat. No one cheated. It was so cute watching the really little ones try hit. Carl would lower the pinata down till it touched their head and even the 3 yr old got a couple of good whacks in.
Cousin Andrew was on hand to help if she needed him.
This beautiful Princess Castle cake was made by Aunt Sarah and Uncle Nick.

The kids were so excited to see her carry it into the party.

Happy B-Day Grandson, Ben is 3!
This b-day quilt has a little of everything in it.
The 8 1/2" scrappy blocks have been sitting in my orphan pile for many years.
Ben is the only grandkid that expressed any interest in having them sewn into a keepsake quilt.
This turned out a little 'eye spy'
It is set in a D-9 pattern with additional borders.
His name was added as raw-edge applique'
I am not normally a gal to do bindings but I had scraps of this zebra print that just begged to get put to use.

It's my B-Day and Quilt Night....
Happy Birthday to ME! What a fun day. All four of our kids called me, grand kids too. Sarah and her boys made me a cake to share with the quilt group.
We worked on getting the two graduation quilts trimmed and ready for binding.
This one was sewn by Leigh for her daughter Aubrey.
The one on the machine was worked on by several gals. Amy learned to strip cut and sewed the 9-patches. Pam did the photos for her son, Mile's quilt.
My workhorse of a machine bit the dust so I picked up this little one at Walmart. It has a few decorative stitches so we tried one out on this binding. So far so good.
I might just leave it at the building so we have a dependable one to work with. Now I need to get another one for the house,...and one for the lake.....(wonder if I can sneak one into my office?)
We helped LaDonna get her Stack & Whack material cut out. Rule was to pick a print you liked. She really likes this one.
Mary M worked with her to design a layout that would make best use of the cars.
I think it is going to be a great first quilt! Don't tell anyone, it is a gift for her hubby.

Ben turned 2!
When we ask Ben “How Old are You?” He says: “IT’S MY BIRTHDAY”
He finally got around to saying: “I’m two” and then he grins. What a ham!
This turtle toy was a hit, it bounces and rocks and makes noise.
Sarah made the cake.
The kids helped Decorate- good job (?)
Big Bro. Andrew is in line for cake-
Cousin Karlee is 2 1/2, when I said wow, Ben is as old as you are! She said: “I Don’t think so!- I’m not a baby”
